Add / Edit View Tutorial

This tutorial is designed to show just how easy it is to create or edit a View in Database Schema Designer.


  1. If Adding a new View:
    There are a number of methods to add a new View to the Schema.   Choose the one you are most comfortable with.
    • Open Manage Views screen and click the "Add" button.   See Manage Schema Objects Tutorial.
    • Click the "+V" icon on the main screens toolbar.

    • Click "Insert -> View" from the main menu.

    • Use the keyboard command "Ctrl + W" from the main screen.
    • To create a new View pre-populated with the selected Tables:
      Select the Table(s) and use the keyboard command "Ctrl + Shift + W".
    If editing an existing View:
    There are a number of methods to edit a View in the Schema.   Choose the one you are most comfortable with.
    • Open Manage Views screen and click the "Edit" button.   See the Manage Schema Objects Tutorial to learn more about Managing objects.
    • Double-Click the View you want to edit.
    • Right Click the View you want to edit and choose Properties from the menu that appears.

  2. Edit the View properties as needed.   See the View Properties Tutorial  to learn more about editing a View's properties.
  3. Click the OK button to submit your settings and create a new View.

    Click the Cancel button to discard your changes and stop the creation of a new View.
